Conducting practice-oriented research: What to do and not to do in building partnerships between researchers and clinicians
|Thursday, October 30, 2014|
The Society for Psychotherapy Research and Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration together present this webinar.
Dr. Louis G Castonguay, Professor of Clinical Psychology at Penn State University, past president of SPR, and founder of the Webinars initiative will speak on two decades of experience building and evolving research collaborations with practitioners in real-world settings.
This webinar will suggest and discuss guidelines aimed at fostering practice-oriented research (POR). POR is based on collaboration between researchers and clinicians with the goal of conducting scientifically rigorous and clinically actionable and sustainable studies. The suggested guidelines will be derived, in part, from lessons learned by 11 groups of contributors that have built clinician-researcher partnerships in various naturalistic settings (several countries across three continents) with a diversity of clinical populations and treatment approaches, as well as a myriad of research methodologies.
